Advanced Sterilization Products sterilization supplies and ancillaries are used in the sterilization of instruments and implants. Sterilizing surgical instruments and implants is crucial to prevent surgical site infections, which can lead to prolonged hospital stays, increased costs, and even mortality, by ensuring instruments and implants are free from pathogens.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The medical supplies offered by Advanced Sterilization are crucial for patient care.
