The University awarded a contract for Community Health Partners.
Under Center for Disease Control Grant 1, Community Health Partners will support the School of Public Health and the Office of Technology Management (OTM) in achieving the grant's objectives. This will be accomplished through the implementation of trainings, health promotion initiatives, and professional development programs for community health workers.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) This procurement is in the best interests of the University because the participation of this community health partner is essential to fulfilling the goals of the CDC grant. Their involvement ensures that the grants objectives, including training implementation, health promotion, and professional development for community health workers, are achieved effectively. This aligns with the Universitys mission to advance public health initiatives and strengthens its reputation as a leader in addressing community health needs.
