The University awarded a contract for Kaplan Test Prep.
Kaplan Test Prep software that will be provided for students participating in the Health Resources and Services Administration-funded Urban Health Program Health Careers Pathway Program.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for periodicals, books, subscriptions, database licenses, and other publications procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(5)) This procurement is in the best interests of the University as it supports the Health Resources and Services Administration-funded Urban Health Program Health Careers Pathway Program. The Kaplan Test Prep Software provides essential test preparation resources for pre-health students preparing for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), Dental Admission Test (DAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT).The software offers students access to practice tests, pre- and post-assessments, and practice questions, which are critical tools for academic and professional success. Kaplans resources have consistently proven beneficial for student achievement in the past, and continuing to utilize these resources ensures consistency and fosters ongoing success for the program and its participants.
