Illinois State University is seeking statements of qualifications from engineering firms interested in providing design services for the replacement of the basement air handler units and the replacement of the fans and coils in the penthouse equipment room at the Watterson Towers. The Watterson basement air handlers are original equipment to the building. There are four fans with a current total of 24 zones between the fans. These fans provide air movement for the center core, the existing fitness center, the service level, and the formal lounge area. This project will also provide for work associated with replacing the penthouse fans and coils at Watterson Towers. Design is needed to identify distribution and zoning to meet current and near future floor plans. The budget for this project (including construction) is estimated at approximately $850,000.
