Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking bids on 1 Model Year 2002 new 14-passenger mid bus alternate allowable vehicle to meet the following specifications:- 159" Wheelbase
- 5.7L SFI 255 HP Vortec V-8 gasoline engine
- 600 CCA Battery
- 4-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive
- 12,000 lb. minimum GVWR
- 6-panel bus body
- 90" interior width, minimum
- 74" interior headroom, minimum
- Integrated steel cage construction in roof, side, floor and rear of bus, (bus body must meet all Federal structural standards for school buses)
- Galvanized steel body construction with metal exterior sidewalls
- Embossed interior roof panels to reduce scratching and noise inside bus
- Two-step step well w/10-3/4" ground clearance to bottom of first step
- Rear emergency door w/upper and lower glass
- 5/8" exterior grade plywood sub floor
- 1/8" rubber floor covering
- 3/16" ribbed rubber in aisle and on entrance steps
- Aluminum aisle moldings
- White polyurethane exterior paint sprayed w/electostatic paint guns
- White interior paint
