for a near-field scanning optical microscope system (Bid # C04-10697-0005M). Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking bids for one each near-field scanning optical microscope system (NSOM) to include the following features:

  • Capability of operation in essential modes (fluorescence, polarization and spectroscopy)
  • System noise level in Z-axis must be less than 1.0 nm
  • A shear force sensor system for detecting forces between NSOM probe and a specimen
  • A tuning fork sensor must be used as the force sensor
  • Adiabatically tapered straight NSOM probe must by used by the system
  • NSOM stage must have a sample scanner that moves the sample in the X, Y, Z axis relative to the stationary NSOM tip
  • Must have two integrated, independently readable color CCD cameras
  • Two independent exit ports
  • Independent optical sensor and fedback circuitry
  • Acquisition software must run on Windows NT platform
An award will be made to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Contingent on Board of Trustees approval. Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
