for three pickup trucks (Bid # C13390-0105M). Southern Illinois University Carbondale is wishing to purchase two new model year 2001 or 2002 two-wheel drive pickup trucks, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC, or University approved equal, to include all equipment advertised as standard, and to meet or exceed the following minimum specifications:

  • 133" minimum wheel base
  • 8-foot fleet side bed
  • 8 cylinder 4.6L engine (minimum)
  • 8500 minimum GVWR
  • Heavy duty rear suspension
  • 4-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive
  • Bed liner, to fit under the edge of the truck bed
  • Speed control, factory installed
  • Power steering
  • Brakes, front/rear anti-lock
  • Air conditioning
  • Daytime running lights
  • Front/rear bumpers, rear step
  • Vinyl bench seat
  • Dual air bag system
  • AM/FM radio w/clock
  • Heavy Duty battery
  • Intermittent wipers
  • Tires: 225/75R16 BSW w/standard equipment spare
  • Outside rearview mirrors, 6" x 9" minimum
  • Rear stabilizer bars
  • Power outlet, (1) minimum
  • All necessary and applicable service shop manuals
One of the above vehicles is to be equipped with a hydraulic lift gate to meet the following specifications:
  • Tommy Gate hydraulic lift, or University approved equal
  • 1,300 lb capacity
  • 40 inch vertical travel
  • Steel platform and framing
  • Platform profile to be flush with the top of bed when in a raised position
  • Pressure relief valve to prevent overloading platform
Trade-in vehicles may be inspected on May 14, 2001 between the hours of 9:00 am, and 3:00 pm at the SIUC Travel Service Office. A contract will be awarded to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Contingent on Board of Trustees approval. Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
