for a fourteen passenger activity bus (Bid # C13390-0119M). Southern Illinois University Carbondale is interested in purchasing one new model 2001 14-passenger activity bus to meet or exceed the following specifications:

  • Current State of Illinois vehicle safety inspection
  • Stop arm and school bus signs removed
  • Eight lamp warning system deactivated prior to use in Illinois
  • Bus body completely undercoated
  • 6.6L 8-cylinder diesel engine
  • 139" minimum wheelbase
  • 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive
  • 10,000 lb minimum GVWR
  • 4.10 1 axle ration
  • Engine oil cooler
  • Heavy duty radiator
  • Power hydraulic brakes
  • Front and rear shock absorbers
  • Front stabilizer bar
  • Power steering
  • 33 gallon fuel tank
  • Intermittent wipers w/electric washer
  • In-dash heater and defroster system
  • Driver''s high back seat with lap and shoulder harness

The University is offering for trade-in, one 1988 Pontiac Wagon (as is), which may be inspected at the SIUC Travel Service office on May 29,2001 between the hours of 9:00 a.m.,and 3:00 p.m.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office.
