for a 1/2 ton window hauling van (Bid # C223M). Southern Illinois University Carbondale is soliciting bids for one new model year 2004 or 2005 one half ton window hauling van to meet the following minimum specifications:

  • 4.9 liter, V-6 Engine
  • 138" wheelbase
  • 1/2 ton chassis, 6050 lb
  • 650 CCA Battery
  • Heavy duty alternator
  • Windows all around vehicle, tinted
  • Intermittent wipers
  • Power steering and brakes
  • 4-wheel anti-lock brakes
  • Air Conditioning
  • Double cargo doors in rear w/fold out vent windows
  • Right side sliding door w/fold out vent windows
  • Cloth seats w/full length head liner
  • Full length rubber floor mat
  • Automatic transmission with overdrive
  • Outside mirrors right and left, 6" x 9" with close-up backing mirrors
  • Cargo area light
  • AM/FM Radio
  • Dual Air bag system
  • Front and rear bumpers
  • Heavy duty rear springs for hauling
  • Tilt steering wheel with cruise control

The University offers for trade-in consideration the following vehicles:
  • One 1992 Dodge B-250 van
  • One 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier
  • One 1986 Ford E-350 passenger van
  • One 1990 Dodge Ram Charger
  • Vehicles may be inspected on Thursday April 8th between the hours of 9:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. at the SIUC Travel Service facility
An award will be made to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or parts thereof. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid/RFP documents. Bidding documents may be obtained by contacting the Purchasing Office. Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) eligibility number is required on all bid proposals.
