The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Carbondale hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the electrical/fire alarm work for an automatic sprinkler system installation project (Bid # C424M).
The University is seeking bids for a contractor to provide all electrical work necessary for the installation of an automatic sprinkler system in Mae Smith Hall on campus.
The project scope includes installation of a new pre-action dry sprinkler system for the dorm rooms, corridors, and common living spaces, and also consists of removal and replacement of the existing fire pump. Included is an upgrade and integration of the existing fire alarm system into the new sprinkler system, as well as, a lay-in ceiling for the first floor and new pipe covering and chases as required by sprinkler piping.
An award will be made to the lowest bidder meeting specifications and conditions. Plans and specifications may be picked up in the Purchasing Department, 1255 Douglas Drive, Carbondale, IL.
Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked electrical/fire alarm work for an automatic sprinkler system installation. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held January 31, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. CST in the SIUC Physical Plant lunchroom. All contractors wishing to submit a bid must be present.
