Project Description
The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University hereby requests letters of interest from architects/engineers to provide professional services for the following University project:

Project Name: Athletic Facility Master Plan

Description of Project: The Athletic Department has a need to develop a comprehensive athletic facility master plan reflecting the priorities and needs of the University as defined by administrators, faculty, staff and students integrating surrounding campus architecture and circulation paths. The master plan should contain an evaluation of existing facilities and fields, review of mission and requirements, and renovation or expansion proposals and phased implementation plan for the proposed plan. This information must be suitable for fundraising and user group presentations.

Among the criteria which will be utilized to evaluate the architecture design firms requesting consideration for selection:

1. Prior completion of athletic facility master plans for NCAA Division I Universities of similar scope and complexity. Preference will be given to firms having successfully completed three or more collegiate athletic master plans over the past three years.
2. Direct involvement and experience of team members in athletic facility master plans at the NCAA Division I level.
3. Prior experience with feasibility studies for collegiate athletic facilities with specific emphasis on football stadium design and arena design.

Only those firms, which meet the following qualifications, will be considered for selection:

• Licensed to practice as an architect/engineer in the State of Illinois

The following project-related criteria will be used to evaluate the Consulting firms requesting consideration for selection:

• Prior firm experience with similar projects
• Appropriate staff size and disciplines
• Prior performance of firm and its consultants with completed projects at Southern Illinois University and with other State Higher Educational Institutions

Consulting firms should submit seven copies of their letter of interest and documentation of qualifications by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 addressed to:
