The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the furnishing and installing an access control system for Cougar Village Housing complex project (Bid # 8137).

The Board of Trustees of the Southern Illinois University governing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville hereby requests sealed bids for establishing access control for the existing Cougar Village Housing area. The project includes furnishing all labor, equipment, tools and materials for the installation of approximately 1000 linear feet of curbing, two automatic access gates, three eight foot manual swing gates, eleven removable bollards, and miscellaneous landscaping.

Prequalification: Bidders who have not completed and returned their prequalification statement which is valid for the period January 1, 20001 through December 31, 2001, will be required to prequalify in accordance with the bidding contract provision--Document PQ00250 Prequalification Documents. Firms may verify their prequalification status by contacting Shelly at (618) 650-3265. The prequalification document will be due at the SIUE Purchasing Office prior to the bid opening.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked furnishing and installing an access control system for Cougar Village Housing complex. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, May 3, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

• Bid security (see complete bid for details)
• A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
• All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A pre-bid conference for all those interested in bidding the project will be held on April 24, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commons Building Conference Room, Cougar Village Complex. Representatives of the University and the architect will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
