The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University governing SouthernIllinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) hereby requests letters ofinterest and statement of qualifications from Architectural/Engineering firms interested in providing professional consulting services for thefollowing University project.
The project will provide a new residence hall of approximately 500 bedslocated on the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville campus. Theprogram will include a mix of traditional residence hall rooms andapartment-type rooms with private bedrooms and a kitchenette. It isanticipated that several of these apartments will be located in clusterswith shared common areas for special interest groups and will be amixture of shared rooms and private rooms. The University alsoconsiders it a high priority in the new facility to provide aestheticand programming elements, retain upper division students who are seekingoff-campus housing alternatives, and offer more common space and singlerooms than a traditional residence hall.

Please submit seven copies of a letter of interest and statement ofqualifications to Mr. Richard Walker, Assistant Vice Chancellor forAdministration, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Campus Box1158, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1158. Information should be submitted to Mr. Walker and not Shelly Albert as stated above.
The following related criteria will be among that used to evaluate thefirms requesting consideration for selection: pre-qualification status,location of firm, prior experience with similar projects, appropriatestaff size and disciplines, prior performance of the firm and/or itsconsultants with completed projects at SIUE, and current workload.
The deadline for submitting proposals is February 23, 2005. Proposalsshould include a complete description of the history, size, andcapabilities of your firm, and a list of projects which demonstrate yourexperience with the kind of work SIUE expects to undertake. For eachproject, indicate a knowledgeable reference (name, address and telephonenumber) and a copy of your CDB Pre-qualification Certificate.
