The University awarded a contract for hearing aids and supplies to Siemens Hearing Instruments for an estimated $75,000.
The SIU Audiology Clinic serves a variety of hearing impaired patients. The clinic believes in offering their clients the most flexible and appropriate hearing aid choices. Options are presented and discussed with each client based on their individual needs. Siemens Hearing Instruments is the only vendor on the market today that offers a triple microphone hearing device. Its TriMic is a standard feature of the Triano 3 BTE hearing aid, which employs three microphones working together to provide the highest degree of directionality available in any hearing aid. The award will cover the period July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006.
