Note: This is an addition of vendors awarded under exemption number 9JWS2211 for the same services except for eBook conversions.

The University of Illinois Press will be working with 15 to 20 vendors to meet the varied needs of approximately 150 print jobs and eBook conversions during a fiscal year. The details of each job will be sent to a minimum of 3 vendors who can meet the needs of the job. The disbursement of the job details will be based on industry knowledge of who can handle the special requirements of the job or have prior history with the job. This includes but is not limited to the ability to meet defined timelines and other eBook conversion requirements. The job will be awarded to the vendor who can meet all the requirements of the job while offering the lowest quoted price.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) University Press has various books created through printing or eBook conversion. The items are paid for by the revenues generated from selling those items.
