The University awarded a contract for Journal Printing for UI Press.
The University of Illinois Press will be working with two vendors to meet the needs of approximately 28 contracted journal societies and their subscribers. As most of these journals print quarterly issues, this results in excess of 100 print jobs during a fiscal year. The current anticipated vendors are included below, however, the Press may need to add others as industry standards, supply chain limitations, and Press productivity evolves.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) University Press has various journals they must print. The printing costs of the journals are paid for by the revenues generated from selling the journals.
