The University awarded a contract for Evita Infinity V500 ventilators.
The Evita Infinity V500 ventilator is a machine that supports breathing by bringing oxygen into the lungs and removing carbon dioxide from the body.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The current ventilators, PB-840, are at end of life that we are trading in for the V500?s to eliminate the differences in ventilation modalities and approaches to reduce the risk of errors.
