The University awarded a contract for membership access to The Advisory Board to The Advisory Board, Washington, DC, for an estimated $289,120.
Continual purchase of membership access to three modules-Health Care Advisory Board; Nursing Executive Center; and Financial Leadership Council from The Advisory Board Inc.
Advisory Board membership provides University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System with unlimited, direct, and immediate access to analysts, researchers, and senior consultants to discuss any practice or run deep on unique issues. Advisory Board staff are available to provide follow-up support and networking contacts, as well as share documents obtained during the course of research.
The Health Care Advisory Board membership access is utilized to identify best practice research on health care strategy in an all-inclusive membership model comprehensive of research studies, webinars, cohort networking, and annual meetings. In addition to access to senior health system executives and strategy and planning staff with tools, insights, and guidance. Another unique feature is the on-site customized sessions facilitated by Health Care Advisory Board staff.
The Nursing Executive Center membership access is utilized for best practice research on nurse strategy in an all-inclusive membership model comprehensive of research studies, webinars, cohort networking, and annual meetings.This module includes support for Chief Nursing Officers with workforce management, patient satisfaction, frontline care, productivity, and clinical documentation. In addition the Nursing Publications Library has in-depth reports on emerging developments in Nursing.
The Financial Leadership Council: membership access is utilized for research on health care financial leadership strategy in an all-inclusive membership model comprehensive of research studies, webinars and cohort networking. This module includes concerns around margin preservation, the financial impact of the ICD-10 transition, and payment models of the future. Unique all-inclusive membership model includes access to Member Meetings and Annual gatherings of health system Chief Financial Officers.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the Organization Memberships

We will hold a public hearing at the date, time and location specified below, if we
receive a request to testify regarding the sole source determination. We will also
hold a hearing if any vendor submits a signed statement showing the capability to
provide the stated supplies/services at or below the amount indicated.
The public hearing allows any interested party the opportunity to testify for or against
the sole source determination as described in this notice. The purpose of the hearing
is to receive information from the public in a reasonable manner. Formal rules of evidence
will not apply. The hearing officer will produce minutes of the hearing and may record
it in order to aid in the production of the minutes. After conclusion of the hearing we
will decide whether the sole source determination was appropriate.
We must receive any request to testify and any vendor statement no later than the
registration date and time indicated below. If we do not receive a timely request or statement, we will not hold
the hearing. We reserve the right to cancel the procurement prior to any scheduled hearing.
