The University awarded a contract for Aisys CS2 anesthesia system.
Aisys CS2 is a state-of-the-art anesthesia delivery system used on patients during surgery.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Having the latest technology in anesthesia machine helps the clinicians to better serve the patient population in the operating room. UI Health is also standardizing to GE Aisys CS2 for compatibility of equipment and ease of use. This is for the anesthesia machine replacement project. Six sets of anesthesia machines will purchased over the next couple of years. These machines will be integrated with EPIC electronic medical records.
