The University awarded a contract for Vision 1300 Series Cart and Utensil Disinfector.
The Vision 1300 Series Cart and Utensil Washer/Disinfectors are high capacity cart washers, available in three chamber lengths that provide maximum throughput. The fast 10-minute cycle uses high impingement washing and provides thermal disinfection with the lowest water consumption per cycle on the market.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The existing Cart Washer is not functional or repairable. It is necessary to replace with new technology that will reduce manual cleaning and help improve the sterilization workflow.
