Cantel Medical and its subsidiaries, including Medivators Inc., were acquired by STERIS in June 2021. Work is ongoing to align the systems and processes of Cantel and STERIS to help provide a better experience for our Customers. On May 1, 2022, all Cantel products and services sold and invoiced will be under the STERIS Corporation. As part of this transition, all order communications will use the STERIS branding in place of Cantel – this includes sales order acknowledgements, invoices, sales quotes, etc.

The University awarded a contract for pass-thru automatic endoscope reprocessor.
Advantage Plus & Advantage Pass Thru- Automatic Endoscope Reprocessor that High Level Disinfects flexible Endoscopes. The Advantage Plus and Advantage Pass-Thru are equipped with built in leak testers and automatic alcohol flush. The units can be integrated with the EndoDry drying cabinets and Cleanascope Transport system to ensure a complete circle of protection. The digital tracking ensures the Endoscope was cleaned correctly, preventing patient infections.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The endoscope reprocessors are needed for the new Outpatient Surgery Center for the following reasons: it reduces hospital-acquired infections by high-level disinfection of the endoscope, it reduces human error with all channel monitoring, and digital tracking ensures the endoscope was cleaned correctly, preventing patient infections.
