The University awarded a contract for detection kits, reagents, and supplies.
Purchase of detection kits, reagents, and supplies necessary for the operation of the Leica Bonds and Peloris currently in place in the UI Health Pathology Laboratories. These instruments provide immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) testing and tissue processing for UI Health patients.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) IHC and ISH testing are essential for guiding the treatment of UI Health patients.
