The University awarded a contract for an Optical Coherence Tomography System.
Spectralis Tracking Optical Coherence Tomography System.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) SPECTRALIS offers high resolution Optical Coherence Tomography angiography with a lateral 5.7 microns per pixel for visualization of capillaries. An axial resolution of 3.9 microns per pixel enables precise multilayer segmentation. The SPECTRALIS platform offers a unique combination of non-invasive Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography with dye-based, gold-standard fluorescein or indocyanine green scanning laser angiography. With this hybrid angiography approach, Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography images can be directly correlated pixel to pixel to fluorescein or indocyanine green, setting a baseline for subsequent Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography for only follow-up examinations.
