The University awarded a contract for a Microscope and Accessories.
Microscope Lightsheet 7 (Dual-Side Illumination) and accessories. The goal of the Fluorescence Imaging Core (FIC) is to accommodate any biological research that requires wide-field, confocal, 2 Photon and total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) fluorescent microscopy.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The current mission of the group is to research endeavors by advising and optimizing the acquisition, analysis, and presentation of imaging data. The addition of the microscope will meet the imaging needs for many UIC researchers.
