The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Illini Union East Balcony Renovation at the Urbana Campus project.

Project Description
The project consists of the removal and replacement of the concrete balcony and stairs, steel handrails and bronze top rail and some steel structure modifications. No new interior construction is contemplated. Other work includes removal, cleaning and reinstallation of the existing bronze top rail cap in the original locations and configuration with slight modifications as noted.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, March 15, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

Prebid Conference
A prebid conference will be held in Room 200 of the Illini Union Building, 1401 West Green St., Urbana, IL at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Thursday, March 8, 2001. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
