The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the UIUC Electrical Distribution Development Phase V - Main Substation Installation Component at the Urbana Campus project.
Project Description
The project, for which base bids are being taken, consists of the 1) installation of concrete encase electrical underground ductlines from existing manholes to the existing substation switchgear building and 138KV riser locations; and 2) installation of a substation ground grid, buswork, potential transformers, concrete foundations for steel support and equipment foundation, stone backfill, erection of steel support structures and 138KV electrical switches, and associated hardware within the UIUC Main Substation located at Stadium Drive due west of Oak Street.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, February 19, 2002. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held in Room 127 at the Physical Plant Services building, 1501 South Oak Street, Champaign, IL 61820, at 9:00 a.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, February 12, 2002. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
