Project Description
Description of Project
Noyes Laboratory is situated on the quad of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign Campus. It is one of the oldest facilities on campus and is the home of the Chemistry Department's library, administrative offices, classrooms, instructional laboratories, and specialized laboratories. Some of the nation's leading research chemists operate within this facility.
This project will translate the results of a recently completed feasibility study into a successful design for significant renovations within Noyes Laboratory. The design should not only respond to the findings of the feasibility study but be developed in the context of the building master plan that preceded the feasibility study. Renovations will include increasing library space and creating improved organic chemistry teaching laboratories. Some minor office renovations may be included in the scope. New mechanical rooms will be created to accommodate HVAC equipment dedicated to the renovated areas.
