The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois hereby requests qualifications from architects/engineers to provide professional services in connection with the Physical Education Building Addition and Renovation Feasibility Study project.
Description of Project
This project will consist of architectural and engineering services to develop a feasibility study for additions to and comprehensive renovation of a 245,150 GSF - 30 year old Division I athletics facility. The additions under consideration include a new entrance arcade to provide improved access to all areas of the Physical Education Building and expansion of facilities to support a variety of Division I athletic teams. The study may address all or some of the following considerations:
Provide top quality training facilities appropriate for Division I athletics
Improve traffic flow between venues (arcade) and enhance athletic/university image
Provide more functional dock and storage options
Add/improve current building security and monitoring systems
Assess existing facility to maximize addition/renovation impact
Provide sport program recognition areas
Promote gender equity
Add public gathering areas (arcade) and public restrooms
Overall upgrade of infrastructure and MEP Systems
The initial commission will be limited to the preparation of the feasibility study. Upon approval of the Project by the Board of Trustees, the retained architect would be considered for completion of the balance of the project.
Professional Services Consultant Submittals

Architect/Engineer selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:
Licensed to practice as an Architect/Engineer in the State of Illinois.
Pre-qualified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board
Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois
Utilization of AutoCAD compatible system
