The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Materials Science and Engineering Building Remodeling - Phase II at the Urbana Campus project.
Project Description
The project consists of remodeling of the second, third, and fourth floors of the existing Materials Science and Engineering Building at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois. Remodeling consists of demolition of interior construction including stud/gypsum and other partitions. New project scope will have all new partitions, flooring, ceilings, and mechanical and electrical systems. Interior work also includes new laboratory fume hoods and associated laboratory casework, office facilities for faculty/post-coctoral students and graduate students and toilet room remodeling.
Bid Proposals
Bids will be received up to the hour of 3:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 for Division II (Plumbing) - Division VI (Sprinkler) work. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Thursday, April 18, 2002 for Division I work. Submit all proposals to the Board of Trustees at:

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, April 18, 2002. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held at the Materials Science & Engineering Building in Room 403 at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, April 9, 2002. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
