The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programshereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the College of Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building Second and Third Floor Remodeling at the Urbana-Champaign Campus project.
Project Description
The project shall consist of the build out of approximately 14,700 gross square feet (GSF) of existing undeveloped space on the Second and Third Floors of the Basic Sciences Building of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. The project will include minor demolition of the exterior pre-cast concrete wall to accept a through-wall louver; partial roofing demolition and replacement incident to the installation of new roof mounted HVAC equipment; new interior construction including painted concrete masonry, metal stud partition walls, suspended acoustic ceilings and floor finishes of sealed concrete, vinyl and carpet. The project includes both fixed and suspended laboratory furnishings. The space will have all new mechanical and electrical systems.
Bid Proposals
Bids for Division II (Plumbing) through Division V (Electrical) work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, September 17, 2002. Bids for Division I (General) work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Thursday, September 19, 2002. Submit all proposals to the Board of Trustees at:

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, September 19, 2002.Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held at Room 2271-C Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, September 5, 2002. Representatives of the owner and the architect/engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
