The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Housing Life Safety Code 2000 - Sherman Hall Piping/Valves Replacement, Phase I at the Urbana campus.
Project Description
This project consists of replacing heating/cooling riser piping, fan coils, pumps and mechanical room piping modifications to the five-story wing; adding a sprinkler system to the five-story wing, with associated piping, conduit and wire, and chase repair work; and of updating fire alarm notification appliances for the entire building.
This project includes a project labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/responsible bidder and the East Central Illinois Building & Construction Trades Council. A copy of the project labor agreement is included in the project bid documents, General Project Requirements.
Bid Dates
Bids for Divisions III, V & VI work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Tuesday, April 13, 2004. Bids for Division I work will be received up to the hour of 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, on Thursday, April 15, 2004. The owner shall assign the contracts for Contract Divisions III, V, VI Work to the Contract Division I (General Contractor) in accordance with Article 6.2 of the General Conditions. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, April 15, 2004. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Conference
A pre-bid conference will be held at Sherman Hall Main Lounge, 909 S. Fifth Street, Champaign, IL 61820 at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, April 6, 2004. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
