The Board of Trustees of U of Illinois Facilities Planning and Programs hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the the Illini Union Sportwell Remodeling project at the Urbana campus project.
Project Description
The project consists of the renovation of a single 6,000 square foot space, to be divided into a number of smaller spaces. Work includes new metal stud and gypsum board partitions, new suspended acoustical ceilings, new carpeting and associated HVAC and electrical revisions. The entire space has been gutted by the Using Agency in advance of the preparation of these documents and bidding.
This project includes a project labor agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsive/responsible bidder and the East Central Building & Construction Trades Council. A copy of the project labor agreement is included in the project bid documents, General Project Requirements.

The bid documents may be obtained from the professional services consultant by depositing a check in the amount of $100 for each set, payable to the professional services consultant.

Prequalification
Each bidder shall prequalify with the owner in accordance with the General Instructions to Bidders (Document 00200).
All bidders shall be prequalified with the owner. New bidders that are not prequalified shall prequalify using the owner''s web-based Contractor Annual Prequalification System (CAPS)- http://notes.ocp.uiuc.edu:8888/
The project will be administered using the owner''s web-based project management system. PRZM was developed to maximize the potential of the Internet in allowing project team members to access and exchange project information. PRZM supports team collaboration in management and interaction, as well as team member empowerment on a multi-layer security system.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, March 24, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
Pre-Bid Meeting
A pre-bid meeting will be held in the Old Billiard Room in the basement of the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green Street, Urbana, Illinois at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Thursday, March 17, 2005. Representatives of the owner and the professional services consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.
