Project Description
The project is a renovation of an existing building to be utilized by the University of Illinois for various campus units as short term office, instructional, and conference spaces. The scope of work includes renovations to provide accessible restrooms for the public, construct safe means of egress throughout the building, structural repairs, building envelope repairs, complete fire suppression, security upgrades, audio/visual equipment, IT upgrades, air conditioning improvements, heating improvements, furnishings, and finish upgrades. Work will also include the construction of a building addition to house two new egress stair towers to provide safe exit from all floors, as well as the installation of a limited use/limited application elevator to provide access from grade to the basement and first floors. Selective demolition and environmental remediation of impacted areas will be required. Landscaping, parking lot renovations and striping, and other site work to improve site drainage is also included. This Project is located at: 805 West Pennsylvania Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801.
