Invitation for Construction Bid: Roger Adams Lab Life Safety and Restroom Upgrades
Contracts for this project will not be awarded. Divisions 5 and 6 will not be awarded and no bids were received for Division 6. The project will be rebid in the near future to allow for an increase in the number of submissions.
The Division 01 bid opening scheduled for Friday, August 26, 2022 is cancelled.
This Addendum 01 supplements and amends the project manual and the drawings and shall be taken into account in preparing this proposal and shall become a part of the contract documents. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by listing the number and date, where provided, on the bid form (document provided by the contractor.) This Addendum provides RFI information and updates specification and drawing information only and does not alter the previously published bid date(s).

Project Description
Rogers Adams Laboratory (RAL) has one of the highest levels of research funding associated with it. A concerted effort has been made to sprinkler all laboratory buildings on campus to provide a critical element of human safety and asset protection. This project will finish the partial sprinkler system installation completed in 2012, and include a new fire suppression system throughout the north side of the facility supplied by a fire pump in the Chemical and Life Sciences Laboratory (CSL). Additionally, related occupancy separations and north-to-south compartmentalization will be addressed by replacing passage doors and hardware. Restroom upgrades will also be included in this project, concluding the partial restroom renovation project in RAL that was initiated in 2013 a total of 6 restrooms are identified to be renovated in the Program Statement. Replace ceiling systems and lighting in corridors.

A Mandatory virtual pre-bid conference for all parties interested in bidding the project will be held at 10:00 AM on 8/8/2022 through Zoom Meeting 1-312-626-6799, Meeting ID: 863 0898 6140, Password: 1867. Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
