Request for Professional Services Qualifications (QBS): Sherman Piping Valves Replacement, Phase II

Description of Project
This project will consist of undertaking the replacement of heating/cooling riser piping, fan coils, pumps and Mechanical Room piping modifications to the thirteen-story wing and add sprinkler system to the thirteen-story wing, with associated piping, conduit and wire, and chase repair work for Sherman Hall, 909 S. Fifth Champaign, IL. Sherman Hall comprises two student housing buildings with a central Lounge building. The complex was constructed in 1966. The project is scheduled for 2005 Summer Construction with approx. a 10 week Construction schedule to Substantial Completion. A review of this schedule will be a part of this project with a potential for a revision to two phases construction phases over Summer 2005 and 2006.

A previous feasibility study will serve as the initial basis for this design effort. The feasibility study for the heating/cooling riser piping work was completed January 14, 2004 and a feasibility study for the sprinkler system was completed June 16, 2003. Phase I of this project is scheduled for summer 2004 construction. This current separate project includes the same scope as described above in the five-story wing only.

Professional Services Consultant Submittals
Firms should submit one hard copy and one electronic copy of a CDB SF 255 form. Electronic copy shall be submitted (in pdf format), using the submit button on the UOFP7P website (see below). Hard copy shall be submitted to the address noted below. Deadline for receipt of both hard and electronic submittals is 4:00 PM, Friday, August 20, 2004.

The Professional Services Consultant selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).

Minimum Qualifications
Only those firms which meet the following qualifications will be considered for selection:

  • Licensed to practice as an architect in the State of Illinois
  • Prequalified with the State of Illinois Capital Development Board
  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois
  • Utilization of AutoCAD compatible system
