Project Description
The Capital Development Board and the University of Illinois are seeking professional services for the above referenced project. The purpose of the project is to stabilize and repair the existing deteriorated building envelope conditions, eliminate air and water infiltration issues, replace existing windows and restore the aesthetic appearance of the buildings. A complete and comprehensive assessment or critical façade inspection of the existing 908 and 911 building envelopes by the Architect/Engineer will be required. Repair and replacement work anticipated (a non-exhaustive list) is as follows: removal and replacement of bulging, cracked, failed, efflorescent, spalling limestone and masonry; deteriorated flashings; structural supports, brackets, lintels, anchor systems; mortar/tuck pointing, sealant; reinstatement of displaced limestone and masonry; provision of expansion joints and weep systems, if necessary; replacement of existing steel and wood framed window and glazing units, skylights, and cracked window panes and glass blocks; and repair of downspouts, scuppers, drains and flashings. The Capital Development Board will hire the consulting team.
