Project Description
The Springfield campus of the University of Illinois is seeking a Professional Services Consultant (PSC) with Architectural, Engineering and Structural abilities for conceptualization, design, bid/award, and construction administration services for a comprehensive and phased project for the Student Union with a minimum LEED Silver certification. The Student Union will be a prestigious architectural feature of the Springfield campus; a central gathering place for students, faculty, staff and visitors that will inspire collaboration and advance the ideas and ideals of the University of Illinois. The Student Union may include retail and food service facilities, offices for student organizations and administrative staff, student services facilities, meeting rooms, and a large entertaining room(s). Conceptualization will include program verification, conceptual drawings of a site plan, floor plans, elevations and perspectives, phasing plans if required and construction cost estimates. Documents produced during the conceptualization phase will be used for fund raising efforts. After a successful conceptualization phase, once funds are identified and with the approval of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees, the PSC may be asked to provide additional design, construction and bid documents and specifications, bid/award services, construction administration, construction observation and post construction support to complete the project.
