Project Description The University of Illinois is seeking professional design services for a new LEED Silver certified facility that will provide a 22,500 GSF three story addition to the Newmark Laboratory Building. The new addition will provide a new lecture auditorium, pre-functional hall, classrooms, and computer rooms, as well as offices for Undergraduate, Graduate and Student Societies. This facility will allow the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering to teach the entire Undergraduate and Graduate programs within the department?s own building for the first time. The facility will become a "Home" to the students and faculty and a welcome center for visitors. A new atrium lobby space will provide window views of activities in the existing Civil Engineering Labs. The design of the addition will be based on a previously completed feasibility study.
