Project Description
The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois is seeking a Professional Services Consultant for the design (schematic through construction documents), bid/award. construction, and warranty phase services for the Multiple Building Elevator Upgrades project.
The campus contains over 350 elevators, many of which are deteriorated and antiquated. Some of the
hydraulic elevators have single-bottom jacks which are no longer allowed by the ASME/ANSI A17.1-
2000 elevator safety code. Many elevators have original non-digital control systems which are difficult to service and maintain. Some elevators require modifications to meet ADA requirements and some need upgraded fire safety service features.
