Project Description
The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign is seeking to employ a Professional Service Consultant (PSC) for the Illinois Field - Baseball Training Center project. The Professional Service Consultant shall provide the planning, design (schematic design, design development, & construction documents), bid/award, construction administration, and warranty services for the project.

This project shall design and construct a new 23,500 GSF indoor baseball training facility on Kirby Avenue adjacent to the Illinois Field baseball clubhouse. The building and structure will include space and volume for a complete baseball infield for training with a turf surface matching the actual surface of nearby Illinois Field. Features will include an adjacent player and recruiting lounge, and pitching and batting areas with retractable netting for player development. The structure will also contain a food service and concession venue accessible to the grandstand area. The facility will connect to the existing baseball clubhouse, locker rooms, training rooms, and offices. A new paved parking area and entrance gateway to Fighting Illini Baseball will be featured from Kirby Avenue.

Potentially, the facility may be able to provide a sheltered training site during inclimate weather for other Fighting Illini sports teams.

Other items incidental to the scope of work include:

Design and select Audio/Visual (A/V) and Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) to be purchased and installed by the Contractor as required to adequately serve the needs of the project.

Assess and provide geotechnical engineering services and survey work to determine the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions and all surface features of the project site.

Selective demolition including structural, mechanical, and architectural will be necessary in linking the new facility to the existing clubhouse with procedures for hazardous material assessment and regulated removal to be included as part of this effort.

Coordinate and provide any infrastructure needed to support the University selected Art in Architecture for this project.
