The University of Illinois seeks to develop a master plan with the aid of a master planning consultant team to guide the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) in the physical development of the 746 acre campus at Springfield, the Therkildsen Field Station at the Emiquon Preserve, Peoria Center, Barber Observatory, the WUIS radio towers, and the UIS Field Station at Lake Springfield.
