The University awarded a contract for Library content Gwendolyn Brooks Archive.
Library content from the Gwendolyn Brooks Archive purchased 8/22/2013. There was an opportunity to acquire Library content from the Gwendolyn Brooks archive and the purchase was completed by the department as an exempt purchase without a purchase order. The exempt posting did not get posted to the Bulletin timely as the normal process to submit a requisition was not used. The department will use the requisition process to notify Purchasing in the future and allow for the timely posting of an exempt purchase.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes in the procurement code because the procurement expenditures are for periodicals and books procured for use by a university library or academic department, except for expenditures related to procuring textbooks for student use or materials for resale or rental.
