The Board of Trustees of Western Illinois University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the a general contractor for the renovation of Bayliss Residence Hall project.
Bid documents will be available at the pre-bid meeting or by request to the Purchasing Office.
Scope of work for the general contractor includes, but is not limited to, the modification of the flashing system in student rooms to prevent water infiltration, the demolition of interior finishes and the installation of new finishes, the removal of hopper windows, floor covering replacement and all other work as described in the project manual and drawings.
Plumbing contractor work scope includes, but is not limited to, converting two bathrooms to ADA accessible bathrooms and other related work.
Electrical contractor work scope includes, but is not limited, to removing and replacing light switches, outlets and wiring in the student rooms as well as removing and replacing fire alarm initiation devices and replacing with new addressable initiation devices in Henninger Residence Hall as well as Bayliss Residence Hall.
Bids will be received up to the hour of 1:40 PM local time, on Wednesday, December 17, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at the University Union Board Room on November 25, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. local time. Bid documents will be distributed at this meeting.
