The University awarded a contract for High Temperature Hot Water system to Crane Energy Flow Solutions, Signal Hill, CA, for an estimated $284,410.
The University's campus high temperature hot water (HTHW) heating system is unique in that there are very few HTHW systems in Illinois. A "HTHW Valve Upgrade Project" began in fiscal year 2012 to replace all defective, inoperable isolation valves on the campus HTHW heating piping loop that serves twelve of the thirteen campus buildings and the HTHW heating systems in the eight original buildings.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the item or service is copyrighted or patented and is not available except from the holder of the copyright or patent.
