Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking bids to replace the HVAC units in buildings located at Evergreen Terrace as outlined in the attached documentation.
A pre-bid conference is scheduled for this project at the Plant and Service Operations break room on the campus of Southern Illinois University, February 6, 2014 at 10:00a.m. CST, located at 210 Physical Plant Drive, Carbondale, IL. Attendance is highly recommended.
Registration for conducting business in the State of Illinois (30 ILCS 500/20-43) Sec. 20-43: Bidder or offeror authorized to do business in Illinois. In addition to meeting any other requirement of law or rule, a person (other than an individual acting as a sole proprietor) may qualify as a bidder or offeror under this Code only if the person is a legal entity authorized to do business in Illinois prior to submitting the bid, offer, or proposal. Do not confuse this requirement with the Board of Elections certification.

Board of Elections: Public Act 095-0971, which became effective on January 1, 2009, requires vendors to register with the State Board of Elections before bidding on any State contract that exceeds $50,000. Registration is also required for all vendors currently holding and/or bidding on State contracts that in the aggregate exceed $50,000 in value.
