The University awarded a contract for MyAthens Licensing as an add on to OpenAthens.
The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) purchased OpenAthens for its members' use through sole source 9DGS2008. This exempt purchase is being made to add an option for CARLI members to also purchase MyAthens, an add-on service to OpenAthens.
MyAthens provides a more robust access point that builds upon the OpenAthens platform and allows a subscribing CARLI member to provide additional information for patrons on what resources are available, what is new and/or noteworthy, and any custom information the members wish to convey.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for procurement expenditures for any ongoing software
license or maintenance agreement or competitively
solicited software purchase, when the software, license,
or maintenance agreement is available through only the
software creator or its manufacturer and not a reseller ( 30 ILCS 500/1-13 (b)(10)) The OpenAthens license was purchased under sole source 9DGS2008. This add-on option is being purchased from the manufacturer and not a reseller.
