The University awarded a contract for neuro and osteo procedure power tools.
Stryker Sales Corporation will provide power tools, powered instruments, disposable drill bits, burs, blades, accessories, and service (repair and warranty).
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This supplies and products will be used in a variety of neuro and osteo procedures at the hospital. Networking and collaborative efforts with other similar institutions has found that only Stryker?s products and equipment have the specifications necessary to meet the hospital?s neuro- and osteo- surgical needs.
