The University awarded a contract for web-based automated member management system.
Web-based recreational automated member management software.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) RecAutomation is built on the newest technology (Software as a Service) and runs considerably faster than other systems. All other market rec platforms are still client/cloud based and not SaaDs. Membership contracts can be executed with the swipe of clients finger on an iPad. Rec Automation does not limit what a guest profile can do in the system. We are able to maintain a single profile and unified view of our students and members throughout their lifecycle of membership with UIC. Rec Automation maintains one database for all account statuses and forces staff to search through the database before creating an account. This greatly reduces the chance of creating duplicate accounts and allows clubs to maintain a clean database. Database structure varies by vendor - however the Rec Automation databases structure is highly stable and conducive to information security. This purchase is paid entirely by revenues generated by Campus Recreation activities.
