The University awarded a contract for Pass Thru- Automatic Endoscope Reprocessor.
Advantage Plus & Advantage Pass Thru- Automatic Endoscope Reprocessor that High Level Disinfects flexible Endoscopes. The Advantage Plus and Advantage Pass-Thru are equipped with built in leak testers and automatic alcohol flush. The units can be integrated with the EndoDry drying cabinets and Cleanascope Transport system to ensure a complete circle of protection. The digital tracking ensures the Endoscope was cleaned correctly, preventing patient infections.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The endoscope reprocessors are needed for the new Specialty Care Building (SCB) for the following reasons: Reduces hospital acquired infections by high level disinfecting the endoscope, reduces human error with all channel monitoring, and digital tracking which ensures the endoscope was cleaned correctly, preventing patient infections.
