The University awarded a contract for a project consultant.
The vendor has been selected as a consultant for the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Mental Health project, specifically a partnership with the IDHS Office of Firearm Violence Prevention. The vendor will be working as a senior design strategist/ consortium lead on the project.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health has previously hired the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design, and have hired them for additional project work. Utilizing consultant services allows the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design and the Office of Population Health Sciences to fulfill contractual obligations and meet deliverables for the State of Illinois. This consultant, has the experience needed to lead this project.
